Data Strategy, a Grand Rapids-based technology-consulting firm, is opening a new sales and engineering office in Atlanta. The office will serve as the hub of the company’s Southeast region.
While details, such as a specific address and layout of the new office space, have yet to be finalized, company officials say the Atlanta location will feature Cisco TelePresence units with video conferencing, which will allow the company’s employees in different parts of the country to communicate face-to-face and work remotely.
“As Data Strategy continues to grow organically and through acquisition, we evaluated several options to expand geographically in the Southeast,” says Dana Jacks, president of Data Strategy. “Atlanta made the most sense, especially for its centralized location in the region and for its access to outstanding technical talent, which is the calling card of our organization.”
He says regional leaders are recruiting sales and engineering talent while focusing on introducing Data Strategy to the business community.
Sean Raftery, a former area vice president with EMC, will work as the general manager for the new office. Joining Raftery from EMC is Dan Sedney, who will serve as the region’s sales manager.
The two staff members are currently working from a temporary location, and the company plans to triple its staff in Atlanta by early 2017.
Data Strategy specializes in integrating datacenter solutions in the mid-market and enterprise segments, and has offices in Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Lexington. The company is part of the Century Technology Group.
